What a great message from God's heart to ours this morning at LifeHouse: compassion. The word stirs up another great word: love. How are you growing in these 2 words? Only one person gives us a perfect example: Jesus. Are we living like He did? Should we expect to do the kind of things He did? Why, yes! 

John 14 - “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

That means maybe you have a co-worker in your office that needs to hear God's message. Maybe they're ready to hear it, maybe they're not. Yet, if we ask God in Jesus name to speak His life into that person, He will do it and wants to use you to accomplish the task! Wow...that's pretty sweet! 

Here's the key. As we follow His life, Christ teaches us! “The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.” Luke 6:40 (NIV)

So, are you becoming fully trained? Few people enjoy working out by themselves. When you don't want to work out, chances are that person will come alongside of you to encourage, challenge and even inspire you.

So don't give up in your training to become more like Jesus with compassion! May this verse encourage you as you work at showing compassion this week:

"Whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:8-9.
