LifeHouse Fellowship!
Now on Sundays at 11am! As we continue to look for a marketplace venue, come and do church with us! For about 1 hour and 20 minutes, enjoy an inviting space for worship and friends with an engaging message and relevant discussion for you.
*Visitors receive a Shipley's donut and coffee, with a free gift.

It's casual, so come as you are.....and here it is
The Top 5:

5. A dirty and dusty old pew...only a comfortable chair or couch (better arrive early for the couch, btw).

4. Cold AC in the winter and a warm heater in the summer...we tend to prefer it the other way around. After all, it's Texas right?

3. Old Music...can't stand it, don't wanna hear it.

2. A Boring Message...interactive discussion, plus the pastor can take a hint when you start to yawn.

1. Traditional church...hey, we are meeting in a house!

"O Lord, I give my life to you. I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced...no one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced...show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you." Psalm 25 (New Living Translation)

Today...everyday...I choose to put my hope in God. Especially today. Why? God is building His church in Kyle. Through LifeHouse, Connection, Plum Creek, The Word, and others...He's building His church. I am so thankful that God has chosen LifeHouse Fellowship to be a part of what He's doing here.

Rejoicing Over Small Beginnings!

"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin..."
Zech. 4:10

I am amazed at what God has already done with LifeHouse Fellowship. This time last year, it all started with a small group at Railroad Barbecue in Kyle. Then it became a core group, then a pre-launch last April. I remember how excited we were to see a church begin! Here are some highlights:

The "Back To Life" Softball game with 21 attending!
In May, "Movies In The Park" with a great opportunity to speak to about 300 or so about our new church!
Our monthly meetings through August as God was putting it all together for our full launch in September!
September Full Launch! 40 people attending, including many pastors and their families who celebrated with us that day!
October "Kyle Market Days" and another opportunity to speak to a lot of people about our new church, as well as, games and face painting for the kids!
Last Saturday at Cabelas for "Lunch On Us". A great opportunity to feed the outfitters. All were incredibly thankful that we would come out on the last Saturday before Christmas to serve them!

Everytime we've met to worship and pray together and to hear the Word of the Lord. Everytime we've met outside our meeting for relationship, as well as, to serve our community....I believe that God has rejoiced over us! He is pleased with all the work that has begun.

So as the New Year approaches, I'm excited about this work continuing. I'm excited about what He is about to accomplish through us next. There are some new things on the horizon that will put us in the greatest position yet in reaching people, so set your bookmarks to this blog and discover what God is up to for 2010. It's gonna be a tremendous year!

Reality

Life is hard and God is good. Life is busy and God gives us peace. Life is demanding and God is merciful. Today, I'm embracing the reality that my life cannot exist without God. I've tried to do it without Him before, but I simply can't handle it.

Basics

Never compare where you are in Christ to others. This has been especially hard for me, even as a pastor. I look at other pastors and their churches and wonder if I will ever measure up to them. But, I don't need to. I simply need to be obedient to God.

Every life is different and all of God's gifts are unique to each of us, yet I believe we have a responsibility to use those gifts for His kingdom purpose. Let's start by getting back to basics today: reading God's Word, pouring out your heart to Him through prayer, spending time with others who are growing with you, and practice, practice, practice what He teaches.

Thanks for praying this week.

Blessings!

Hey LifeHouse! Read this devotional by one of my favorite pastors, Greg Laurie...

Not Over Yet - Acts 12:24

At the beginning of Acts 12, we find a seemingly all-powerful Herod wreaking havoc on the church. He had on his side the power of government, the sword, and the threat of prison. But the church had on their side the Creator of the universe and the secret weapon He had given to them, and to us, called prayer.

As Acts 12 comes to a close, we find the great Herod giving a speech. The Jewish historian Josephus points out that at this particular event, Herod was dressed from head to toe in silver. As the sun reflected off him, he looked like a god to the people. At the conclusion of his speech, the people were so taken with him that they began to shout, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" (verse 22). Meanwhile, Herod soaked it all in. So next we read that "immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died" (verse 23). The Lord dealt a fatal blow to a wicked man. The narrative concludes with, "But the word of God grew and multiplied" (verse 24).

So Acts 12 opens with Herod on a rampage, arresting and persecuting church leaders. James is dead, Peter is in prison, and Herod appears to be triumphing. But the chapter closes with Herod himself being struck down, Peter free, and the Word of God triumphing.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then you have access to God through a relationship with Him. You can call on the Almighty God who will hear—and answer—your prayers according to His will.

So you see, it's not over until it's over. That is why we need to keep praying.

Copyright © 2009 by Harvest Ministries.

Truth: God's Word has the power to change your circumstances on a dime! I'm sure the early church felt defeated after the deaths of Stephen and James, Peter's imprisonment, and Herod's persecution. They had every right to feel that way.

What I love about the early church is no matter what came against them, they kept meeting, praying, and following Christ....together! Nothing could stop them from doing so. In today's world, our society...and yes, even the church at times...have become lazy and apathetic in their efforts for community. This holds true even among followers of Christ.

At LifeHouse, we need to be reminded again and again how important we are to one another and how amazing our God is with His kids! Be encouraged, no matter what you are going through today, God's Word and your prayer can change your situation suddenly! It can change our church suddenly....

R u ready? Thanks for praying...

Love, G

Hey everyone, check out this devotional! This is a good word for us...

Still Counting - Addition

by Ed Young

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

The Bible is all about numbers. From the five smooth stones that David found in the creek to Jesus feeding the 5,000; numbers are apparent throughout Scripture. There is even an entire book of the Bible titled "Numbers."

Math is also all about numbers. Without numbers, we couldn't add, subtract or do any of those extensive trigonometry problems that we all love so much. But what's the relationship between numbers, math and God? Basically, math and numbers matter to God. And it all starts with the number one.

God works supernaturally through the church to add to his equation. He uses people like you and me to reach others and bring them into his family-one person at a time. God could easily snap his finger and have a church filled with thousands of people appear, but that is not how he works. It all goes back to the power of one.

This week, remember that math is important to God and that you are a major factor in his addition. God has added you and he wants to use you to help add more. But it's all about adding one at a time. You have to go out and find that one. Help add to his equation and invite someone to church with you. Show them that numbers do matter and that God is still counting-one life at a time.

For more information about this and other subjects, visit the Ed Young Ministries website: www.edyoung.org

Go out and enjoy your day, LifeHouse! Remember in the power of one!

What an incredible Saturday night we had! This is God's timing for us to look at our conversational life with Him. So many things are happening around us; the circumstances of this life can be overwhelming at times. Be encouraged though, God is waiting for us and hears us.

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8).

"But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him. (Psalm 4:3)

This is my prayer for you:

"Lord, I pray that you would touch my friend today with your love and your power. Help them, in every situation, to know You more. Provide every need they have today and give them times of refreshing in your presence. Astound them; wow them today with who You are as they draw near to You. Amen."

We ask for your prayers in these next 2 weeks as we look forward to "Nothing's Too Hard For God". Please pray that God will give us opportunities with His grace to reach our neighborhoods!

Wow, it's hard to believe it's finally here....our full launch! Ah, the enormity of it all. This will change our lives and so many others forever!

God has been so faithful to us.....it's been almost 3 years since we made the decision to become planters and boy, it's been quite a journey so far! I still remember the day, up in that prayer room at Bethel Temple, when God spoke to my heart about taking the plunge. Everytime I think about it or talk about that day, it still gives me the goose bumps and brings me to tears...God had spoken to me!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord."
